Need help with backsplash

We recently had our granite installed- Bianco Estrella. We are torn on a backsplash to do. We have white cabinets. I was trying to stay clear of the white subway tile because it seems everyone uses it. Any ideas?

Comments (2)Hi Karen. I like the sound of grey. I'd go with something very light to brighten the space. Farrow and Balls slipper satin is a beautiful colour and would look lovely with grey units, perhaps shaded white. Little Greene Paint company also do lovely shades of grey. Perhaps Grouse on the walls and French Grey for the cupboards. A lighter floor and glass splash backs would also help to reflect the light and make it brighter. Comments (3)Do you need a backsplash? What do you want from it? Colour, pattern, or just to protect the walls from splashes (the only reason I think makes sense!) I have no backsplash, my sink is against a wall but it's vinyl Matt and it wipes easily. My hob is on island so no backslash needed. If it's just for behind your hob you can use glass, so not obvious. Comments (9)Do you like patterned tiles at all? Doesn’t have to be garish and you can keep the pallet simple. I’m thinking tile the whole wall, the same width as the vanity unit, up to the ceiling, similar to first picture. Or if that’s too much, then just tile the space from the sink to the mirror. I would raise the mirror a little so that it doesn’t get too splashed....See More
8 years agoLove your island! That looks a lot like my granite. I'm still trying to find a backsplash also and have ordered tons of samples. Tilebar has 5 samples for $5. Here are some that are different...I decided if I do a subway, I would do it stacked. I think it's more about the color size and type of subway, more than it being subway. It's hard with a busier granite! Good luck and let us know what you choose! I've had a line of tile samples around my kitchen for weeks!
