Hi Patricia, I come across this problem a lot, I match the colour samples in the studio and they work perfectly. When we take them to site the lighting in the room totally changes the look of the colour pallets we chose. Lesson one for us, "always" put the colour samples in the room before agreeing them with the client. Lighting is the single most important factor with pastel colours. If its a north facing room colours will always look dull. Due to the position of the window the units under the window will always be in shadow which neutralises the blue tones and brings out the grey. Two ways of approaching this. 1 Re paint with a stronger blue to offset the neutralising effects of the lighting. 2 Change the lighting. Put an extension into the room and get a few different lights, LED warm white, Soft white, brilliant while etc. Look at the effects in the day and in the evening. When you find the light source that brings out the blue tones use that on all the lights in the room... With regards to colour on the walls, at the risk of being boring I always go white. When you put white up against a pastel colour the pastel shades really pop out. When you put another colour in it alters / distracts from the pastel. Hope that helps, Martin: www.angel-martin.com

Would it be possible to reduce the lumens of the bulb? And also change it to a warm white. This light looks both harsh, ie too strong, and cool in tone. Although this would not change it entirely, it would soften the look. This kitchen I designed has led lights inserted in the shelves and, as you can see, is far less aggressive, but still provides task lighting for the worktop

Hi! FIrstly - i LOVE the colour of that chimney breast wall!! I think you could be right on looking for an accent chair under there, or potentially a leaning thin mirror? With an antique brass sort of framing to it, to tie in a couple of the accessories I can see in the room already! A mirror would also reflect the colour of the bedding/statement wall, so help to carry the colour over to that side of the room as well! Then my suggestion would be to look under more 'dining' style accent chairs (Made.com do some bright velvet styles with arms etc) that could tuck into your dressing table area! If space is your priority, perhaps the second toilet would be better? What brand is it, btw? I will eventually be redoing a bathroom (had planned to do it this year, but gas price rises have made me decide to install a wood burner instead). Really like the shape of this second toilet and it looks like it would be so easy to clean.
