Hi, As most people have already pointed out, a good design isn't just about one element like the wallpaper. It is about creating layers and balancing the elements correctly. I too think your gold could work perfectly well with the other walls, carpet and furniture, but you now need to layer accessories/soft furnishings and create a great balance that brings the scheme to life. One of the major problems with the space is the large 'gap' you have about the headboard. It may feel like it's the papers fault but you are just processing the gap as being uncomfortable.. Fill it with a mirror, art work or (I like the idea of) the fabric panel.. And this will make the room feel instantly more comfortable and inviting.. The stained glass idea and the shelves idea are brilliant. If the glass now in your window is original, i.e., poured glass (wobbly), you might want to think carefully before replacing it. In that case, the shelves would be a better option. I particularly love the look of the coloured glass vase display as it would catch and reflect the light so beautifully And you could rearrange the display as often as you like.
