Daisy, that’s interesting about swapping the panes around upstairs. I always thought it was better the way they are now so any reason for that or just personal preference? Next door is the other way around. But talking of next door Minnie, it has not been updated in decades and so I’d like to not diverge too much but at the same time take the lead in updating IYKWIM. When I finished the later mock up with the existing style of windows I did think it looked nice. Maybe the porch and planting improves the overall look along with a fair bit of doodling photoshop!

I have a gaggenhau oven, steam oven induction hob and warming drawer. It is my second oven and I made the purchase as I liked the oven from my previous house. They all operate well and I really recommend them as a product from in terms of design and operation.

i love dining with a view of the garden. I agree about the kitchen too. Whoever does most of the cooking and prep should make the choice. My only concern is that if it is south facing it might be too bright with all the rooflights. Think about furniture fading underneath them too. Make sure you get UV resistant glass. I would also think about cleaning. Make sure you have access or buy that glass (I think it's Pilkington) that self cleans or at least repels more dirt.

Thank you Minnie for these observations. - For the peninsula: we currently have a 2400 run of cupboard (on one side 4 x 60, other 2 x 900 + 600) and 300 for the overhang - hence a total of 2700. I see your point more starkly now: i calculate I would have 1200 between the island and the wall - which may kill the sense of ease for moving around. May be best to switch the seats as you have it on your picture and loose a bit of storage. - Yes the render has a splashback, but I will go for a lower upstand with slim wall lights as you suggest. - I am stuck with the fridge so trying to get as much SS on the ovens is a good idea. - I agree that the small cupboard with shelves opened would have been nice, but I need this space to put things away. A thought was whether one day, this hinged door would be good in wood. Many thanks again. Isabelle
