I'm buying this apartment, what layout would you have with TV and sofa
Comments (1)We like the idea of an L-shaped sofa, but it will force you to walk where the roof is low. Maybe 2 two seaters angled towards the end wall with a gap in the middle so you are walking where the head height is higher, or maybe it's not a problem if you aren't as tall as us! You could consider chairs...a love seat?...See MoreDownstairs layout, what would you do?
Comments (6)I agree with doing away with the Pantry door in to the sitting room, it's not needed. However, although as you say it might make a better seating area with the hall to lounge door blocked up to, I think living with no door will be annoying. You would have to walk through the Pantry and kitchen, through the dining room and round just to get to the lounge. Likewise the same route to get to the downstairs loo, which i presume is on the left of the plan ( or should be ). Access from the hallway to a lounge is a given in any house, and I personally think it would be odd without it. If you're dead set on doing away with the lounge door, then move the pantry to lounge door right to the front end of the wall it's on instead of having it right in the middle splitting the work surface in two. That way you will have a door in the middle of the lounge and get better unit space in the pantry. I would also make the pantry area wall to ceiling cupboards with Shelves inside. It will act as an extension to the Hallway, and everything needs to put away....See MoreGround floor plan dilemma
Comments (8)option 2 for me! I would partition off the sitting room but with double doors (pocket maybe) to allow it to be open when you want. I also wouldn’t want to have to walk all the way through sitting and dining rooms to come into the kitchen every time, you want easy kitchen access from your front door and from upstairs. It’s true however that the kitchen space is quite limited in option 2 especially with the utility door there too. Would you consider putting the kitchen on the opposite side instead? A wall run and parallel island would work well there. And then have the dining table in the “kitchen” area? Appreciate that may be difficult if plumbing is already in place though. Alternatively, you might be able to make the under stairs space part of your kitchen (create a pantry in there?) to give yourselves more kitchen space. The utility room doors look likely to cause issues as drawn. I would change all the doors to open the opposite way from currently shown, if you can (so the garden door opens into the garden, not the utility; the door from kitchen opens into the utility not into the kitchen; and the door to the garage opens into the garage, if that works with a car in there). I would also consider whether you really need the door from garage to utility - you won’t be able to fit a lot in there with 3 doorways....See MoreWhere would you put the sofas?!
Comments (3)Hi 88wj88. I did this a while ago. The table is too squished there though, so putting it in front of the french doors instead. Hope that helps? Don’t have a floor plan as such x...See MoreKieran
