seperate or open plan kitchen

I keep changing my mind!

I like the idea of open plan for the kitchen/dining area to make the space look bigger although it won’t really add any extra space onto our kitchen as I want to keep the dining area for a table/couch etc.

I also thought about patio doors in the dining area (we have a bay window with windows seat just now). My husband likes the window seat and doesn’t want to!

My kids are 8 & 6 so maybe open plan would be useful but then again 2 separate living areas would be nice whilst they are getting the older to have their own space?

The open plan aspect might mean more noise/smells etc. However more light!

What are your thoughts? Would u keep them seperate or open them up?

We live in a 1930’s semi, older style with high ceilings.

What are your thoughts?
