The varnish may fade over time and you will need to redo it at some point. Are you sure that it was varnish and not woodstain? You can buy garden fence paint which comes in many different colours. I used Cuprinol Garden Shades (similar paints are available) in a pale colour on a shed that had previously been stained dark green and it looked much better.

Hi Naomi, I've found some cushions that I think will give you the cohesion that you're looking for, whilst adding that injection of colour! I like your use of mustard as a complimentary colour, maybe look to add in burgundy and a light marine as well? I don't think that you need to add more textures as the geometric patterns already bring an extra dimension to the room. I have something closer to the Wycome set - although fabric (washable) padded seats and a bench. However I love the luxurious look of the Maddox chairs. I think probably the Wycombe is more functional on a regular use kind of table, however the Maddox would be great for dinner parties where you might spend an entire evening at the dining table!

We are looking for the same type of tiles to use on the wall of the sink. The whole bathroom will be a toned down yellow (that's the idea for now) and a secluded shower area - turquoise. The idea is to make it Spanish style, ao there will be a lot of dark wood wood (beams, mirror, sink plank, maybe some more planks, wooden door), some old school wall lights. Shower head and tap are supposed to be bronze color, the old school type. And we'll have plants hanging and standing around. Only not sure about the floor tiles yet. My husband wants it all in pebbles, but i'm not sure it will look nice
