Dining table: light or dark table top?

Which table top would you choose? Whether is for practical or aesthetics, we'd love to know.

Light- Chalfont table

Light- Rocco Oak Table

Dark - Blackbone reclaimed oak table

Dark- Beam industrial reclaimed wood table

a mix of light and dark i think goes really well, oak table top, black chairs maybe...

I tend to usually prefer lighter wood so I went for the Rocco oak table as the dark legs provide a great contrast and I like the chunky look

If you're wanting a traditional look then I'd go for a dark table. You could look at getting an antique table and adding modern upholstered chairs. If you don't want somethng traditonal then I wouldn't limit yourself to a wood, just spend time looking at tables until you find something you love and then plan the decor around that

If you go for a quartz or other solid surface, then any fabricator should be able to do a table for you. You need to face the back with something, we used mdf when we did it, and attach legs of your choice. In laminate you would need to buy a breakfast bar type top and use edging strips on the ends, so would have width limitations.

You need to ensure you have sufficient seating space so that’s for arm movement and also knee movement. The units need to be strong enough for the quartz to be resting on them.

No idea bit I just wanted to say what a stunning plant! Maybe you could get a floor standing lamp with a long arm thst can swing over the centre of the table when needed and pushed out the way (maybe lighting up the plant when not needed?!)

All of them are beautiful, and final choice would really depend on the interior style and look you would like to achieve. But to choose for now it will be Dark - Blackbone reclaimed oak table.
