Kitchen floor tile colour advice
Comments (4)Hi cj73. I agree with @minnie101 that the taupe sounds good but do check the colours before ordering. Sometimes two brown tones together look awful so get samples of both the grey and the taupe coloured tiles and lay them down on your wooden floor to see which looks best. Look at them in daylight and in artificial light. The tiles will need to be grouted so that is another colour decision you need to take. If you can get samples of the grout colours while you are considering the tiles it will be very useful at this stage to try a few options out. Good luck. Comments (10)I feel there is perhaps too much colour and pattern. I think going for a french country look with white walls, including the brick, blue additions in accessories and for the fabric. I think Zelig tiles in an off white or blue or even pink would suit your kitchen. I would go for a small gingham print for the skirts in a blue, green or pale grey. A thin country stripe would also go well. Just keep the palate simple. Zelig tiles have a lovely pearlised hand made look (first pic). There is a beautiful magazine called Country Homes & Gardens which showcases lovely cottages and other country houses and a great place to get ideas. Pinterest is also good for ideas and is free. Here’s some ideas I found:...See MoreWhich DIY kitchens unit colour with these tiles?
Comments (3)Thanks colourhappy - I hope you're right. I have ordered a bigger sample from them in cashmere, as I only have a very small one currently that I picked up in the show room. If it doesn't go, when it arrives, or isn't quite pink/cementy enough, can you think of a good mucky pink shade of paint from anywhere as I may go down the bespoke colour option as I did for the kitchen. I was just trying to save time by using a stock colour....See MoreColours for kitchen tiles, worktop and cupboards
Comments (4)The floor tile is fine, though I'd choose the right worktops for the kitchen (with upstands) and choose the tiles afterwards if you're not sure. Personally I'd go for a medium to heavy veined white quartz worktop, then probably a plainer tile. Or even better continue the worktops up for the splashback ... though this maybe alittle higher on cost. Also a stain is a stain no matter what colour your worktops are. They need to be looked after like anything, but are generally very good. Good luck with you choices...See MoreTina P
