Have you got any images of your bathroom and then i can have a better look at the layout? There are lots of options of baths and screens to help contain the water. If you can send some images over that would be great and then i can have a look.

Thank you both. Here are some photos - prepare yourself for grim! We've just ripped out the old airing cupboard as the boiler has been relocated so that is useful space. It may be that we're trying to squeeze too much into a small space. I've included a (not to scale) diagram which may help. Thank you again.

Thanks Bubbles, that looks great. I didn't realise there were offset quads so that could work really well. We've drawn this out on the floor so this could work. Need to work out where to put the loo roll as it's rather tight!

Thanks Jonathan, this is a very unusual house with lots of quirks and challenges! The soil pipe runs from the bathroom into the middle of the house and then down. It already has a few turns in it so we are reluctant to add more. The builder is coming tomorrow so we can discuss more options then.

Hiya - I think Bubbles bathrooms and tiles has the right idea there but I do have another idea! Funny position of soilpipe in this one!! I have an idea but may need a bespoke shower! I'll draw it up for you. What's your budget both install and product?

I've just put in a back to wall victorian style bath which is lovely and the shower in the middle has everything on one piece so there are no taps at all at the bath level (see image of the one we bought). We've also used pocket doors in the past and on one occasion we used a sink above a toilet (when they are built in to the top of the cistern). I was also told recently I couldn't move a toilet but then found a way using a different type of toilet (can't remember what it was called) that enabled them to move it

Drew this up as a little option. Bringing a 900 x 800 squared shower along the bath, sharing the walking space with the toilet and basin on the opposite walls. Nice natural room and you should be able to move toilet as you're only creating 1 bend with a small distance. Doesn't have to be fitted furniture but it hides the SP.

Hi Desiign, thank you so much for taking the trouble to pull this together, I really appreciate it. Ideally we would leave the window clear as I'd like to keep easy access to that. I really like your idea of the partially built in shower and we could think about that in another part of the room.

Budget wise, we're not so sure at the moment until we can an idea of the building costs. It won't be huge as we have a whole house to renovate so won't be going for any particularly expensive design options.

There's more work to be done in my option so I would go with the layout in Bubbles option - just wanted to go my perfect bathroom layout. I like building new walls out in older properties so I know what's there!

If you want the toilet in the corner as another comment suggested and you weren't concealing the cistern you would need an 'open back close coupled toilet' rather than a 'fully shrouded close coupled toilet' :) If going traditional and trying to keep budget down - look at Burlington for sanitaryware and Utopia for furniture - sold all over UK :)
