Comments (12)I'd get as much storage as possible out of it. I do say keep all the plumbed items as close as possible to each other. You have room for more storage. So i'd go with the washing machine under the unit with a corner cupboard for storage. Then the sink unit with another floor to ceiling cupboard for brooms etc. Shelves in the middle. So either this:- The cupboard marked Slimline is so that you have room for all the pipes to be accessed on your Megaflo, if you put a larger cupboard in you'll close the gap, so I marked it as a cupboard, but you may have room for the Fridge Freezer there instead. You have to allow 650mm on cupboards for the plumbing behind and to adjust for walls that aren't true. So if you went with 650 Unit on the left ( above pic ), then 850mm for your door and another 650 to allow for the Fridge Freezer you've used 2150mm , 5mm ( not a lot ) than you already have, so i would be wary of trying to make the room smaller. Obviously the 650mm is an allowance and you would fit those items in, but it does soon get used up....See MoreLayout for utility room help? Pics included
Comments (4)Hi Pugster, My suggestion would be to put the fridge and freezer next to the boiler and have the entire wall floor to ceiling cabinets, with fridge and freezer integrated. That would also hide the boiler, electrics and boxed in pipes. I would carry the cabinets around the corner opposite the window, to give you tons of storage however I would have them raised above the ground to make small cosy spaces for the pets underneath. This would include a sleeping and eating area for the dog and an eating area for the cat. The final cabinet would house the washer/dryer stack. I would use the wall next to the door for the coats and I would put one radiator under the coats (There's nothing better than nice warm coats in the morning!). Shoes storage could be built here with the radiator on top. The space under the sink I would leave clear for more shoe storage. Over on the window side I would use the existing plumbing to add a small sink next to which I would have another small radiator. Over the window I would have a pulley clothes rack on the ceiling above the radiator and across the sink. I would make all the cabinets floor to ceiling and access the upper ones with the aid of a ladder. I think that's everything on your list?...See MoreHelp needed with Kitchen, Dining, Boot room and Utility placement
Comments (13)Tobias, I am planning on doing less in the boot room - have even looked at much simpler carpentry as I think it is just too much. Its quite a big space and I was worried that we were wasting it having what is essentially massive seats so just on one side and a bit more manageable like this or this This would mean just one side and so easier to accommodate a wider door from boot to kitchen. Outside the back where the bi-folds will be is going to be a paved terrace - out the boot room leads to the big gardens pool and tennis court. We would slip out the kitchen via the bifold to the bins which will be placed behind the garage and behind a wall from the paved terrace. We want a shower room downstairs because we have a pool and it stops the kids running up he stairs with wet feet. Not sure what you mean here If you want wow - don’t but the living room wall back when you remove it or have a door from the kitchen to the hall. Slice everything open full height vertically to the ceiling you have enough of an interesting floor plan to create private spaces and an enclosed front room. You will have a wow entrance and staircase as well as dining room and kitchen. Do you mean no wall on the living room? Can you draw what you mean when you say slice everything open full height? Yeah always looking at new stuff and new ideas that I can integrate into the space - useful storage doesn't have to be cupboards. Quite fancy the bottom two stairs lifting up to reveal a bit of secret shoe storage. Thanks for your ideas - I am really keen to have views. Keima...See Morewheezy11
