Kitchen layout help please!
Comments (15)The room is an odd shape and I think you will benefit from professional advice. However I think before you seek that advice, you need to have a good think about the way you use your kitchen now (prep, cooking, serving, washing up, putting away, storage etc). What things do you need close at hand during each one of these tasks? What things do you like about the way your current kitchen works and what things annoy you? Search for kitchen planning articles on Houzz which will help with the sort of things you need to consider. Then when you speak to your kitchen designer you will have a clearer idea of what will work for you, after all the kitchen has to be a functional space, and they will be more likely to help you get what you want....See Moreneed help with kitchen layout - kitchen units deeper than window edge
Comments (13)I think that you need to leave a wider gap, 30cm is not wide and I think it will look like what it is, ie stopping the units so they don't get in the way of the french doors. I would go with a 60-80cm gap and make a useful feature out of it with floor to ceiling shelving. I've found a picture showing some shelving stepped back from regular depth units, so you get an idea. Another option is to use a rounded base unit if you like them and maybe put a stool or plant in the gap....See MoreExtension layout help needed please
Comments (2)Could you repost the floorplan a bit clearer with some rough measurements please? And with neighbours on the right you mean the ones your kitchen+bathroom is NOT connected to? And with a party wall already in place would they agree with an extension on the full width?...See MorePlease help! Long, dark Edwardian terrace in need of new layout
Comments (15)Thanks for your plan @Wumi! With two of us working from home all day I don't think I could face moving the office or sitting room to the darkest part of the house. As the current utility room has a translucent roof at the moment, and a glass door to the dining room, removing it wouldn't really bring more light into the middle of the house, so I think whatever room(s) gets placed there needs to be something that isn't used for long periods of time or, perhaps, 'embraces the dark'. It's a relatively large space for a utility and toilet alone though. Any ideas for what other rooms could go in a relatively windowless space? I think my imagination has hit a wall! Thank you!...See MoreRibena Drinker
