Recommended floor tiles with Howdens Burford Stone kitchen
Comments (4)Hi Karen, We have just had large limestone tiles laid in our new kitchen / living / diner and they're one of my favourite things about the room. We have gone for a Shaker style kitchen with white / grey Quartz worktops (albeit the cabinetry colour probably isn't everyone's taste ) The tiles are 2cm thick and made from seasoned limestone, so have a lovely finish and texture and connect our different rooms beautifully. We have installed wet underfloor heating underneath. For context of size for the tiles, the island is 1.25m x 2.4m. As requested here are a few pics- excuse the unfinished state, as the kitchen is still being fitted and we haven't decorated yet, so the floor is quite grubby!! Super hard wearing!!! Hope this helps!...See MoreKitchen Colour Recommendations
Comments (28)We purchased handleless kitchen under the impression of easier clean and I was wrong. When you have a handle you only use the handle to open the cupboard, and with finishes like brushed steel, finger prints barely show up. With handleless, well you have the entire Base of the cupboard. In hindsight, profile handles would have worked better; it would allow cleaning the cabinets in a single swipe but ensures the entire Base isn't touched. I have found with our gloss cabinets that touching them with dry hands doesn't mark them; rather a slightly damp hand Marks them; Also I prefer to use glass spray and window cloths to wipe down the units to ensure there are no spray marks....See MoreAny recommendations for kitchen companies offering mid-range kitchens
Comments (19)The simplest way is to shop around with one plan so you can compare like for like. So work out the layout either yourself or with an independent pro like us. Then email or drop your plans and item list into all the showrooms that offer the look you are after. That way you are giving the retailers/trade counter/online shop what they need to price it. You won’t feel beholden to any particular showroom who you may have asked to spend time designing for you and you don’t waste ( yours and their) time with different planners/sales people from lots of places who each want to come and measure up etc . It’s fairer all round and should enable you to negotiate the best deals. Click on my icon or name to see some examples on our pro page - and some client reviews !...See Morelighting recommendations
