To expand on my previous comment over a decade ago, no need to choose. Get a pool table with a dining table top. There are loads available. Then cut yourself a piece of MDF or decent quality plywood to fit on top. Make the dimensions enough to allow for fitting a net. EITHER paint it in your own colour scheme as a ping pong table - maybe to match your choice of pool table cloth. Doesn't have to be green & white. Mine's blue & yellow, to match the funky bats & balls I found. OR make the top side a piece of art. hang it on the wall when not in use. You can play ping pong on any sized table. Mine's about 1m x 2m as that's what I can easily store. (Sadly no space for a pool table, but we do have a wide bodied pinball machine & our local pool club, with three pool & two snooker tables, is a 5 min walk away.) You CAN have your cake & eat it.

We have just purchased what we hope to be our last house. It is a very big plot and we are looking to knock down and get planning for a very large house over 4 floors. (12,000 sq ft). We know what we want internally however our issue lies with the external look and feel. My wife wants classic new build, with pillar entrance, sash box windows with stone cills or surroundings (Surrey Commuter belt!). I like contempory white, modern, square, glass walls, feature cladded walls with balconies (Beverly Hills!) Our compromise is classic at the front contempory at the rear. We need help! Hopeful designjunction will help offer solutions so we can move forward.

Hi guys, I am back again with a bathroom query, I have an image attached. I really don't like the current layout for this bathroom and I'm thinking if we move the toilet to the wall on the left under the sink and put the bathroom vanity where the toilet currently is so that this is the first thing the person sees when the door is open. Do you think this works? Again advice is hugely appreciated. I honestly had no idea finalising bathrooms would be so difficult, and the support I have received on Houzz has been the best of any professional I have met so far so thank you all!
