Comments (5)My thoughts are to paint the alcove units either in white or to match whatever colour you paint the walls. You can also paint the fire surrounds to match the units. Sand the units, then paint 2 coats of primer and then 2 coats of eggshell. I would paint the woodwork also in white or the same colour as the walls but use eggshell on the woodwork. Comments (10)I would like to rearrange the room but has the following requirements in mind. - The photo of Jesus should be placed somewhere important (like center of the room) because we use this as a prayer room as well. - The sofa is absorbing a lot of heat from the radiator so move radiator/sofa so the room can be heated up efficiently - Moving the TV to center of the room as I'm planning to install surrond sound system Just some ideas around how I can rearrange the room to achieve the above requiements would be appreciated. Comments (13)Depending on the proportions of the room, you could build around it. For example, a wooden mantel to go just on the top, or as a wider surround with a decorative tile in the gap. I would strip it and then use grate polish to get a sheen.
