Inside/Outside Flooring effect using LVT

Hello..we are in the process of renovating an old bungalow. We are going for the open plan contemporary feel and want to try and create the inside/outside feel. I really like the lvt flooring and wondered if anyone has any examples of how they have achieved this seamless look.

With proper tiles you can get inside thickness and outside thickness they work seamlessly... LVT however ... can’t see how that would work ?! Unless you maybe used outdoor composite decking indoors and out ?!?!

Thank you. I think deep down I thought that, but was hoping to be proven wrong, or that someone had used lvt tiles inside and continued with a matching Porcelain tile outside. I don’t think my original question was very clear!!

So much potential! The style to go for here is industrial & eclectic! Outhouse rooms - I'd use the outhouse rooms for storing your gardening equipment & bike cleaning gear. I'd get some cheap shelves from IKEA for storing stuff on. Bikes - You could get some hooks to hang your bikes on and use them as 'art' in your dining area, hang them in a symmetrical order, keep them clean and make retro signs up for whose bike goes on what hooks. Colours - I'd paint the blue doors and the back of the roller door in a soft charcoal grey. The floor I would paint in a dark charcoal as painting concrete makes it easier to sweep out. The green is already your main accent colour and is very fitting for an outdoor space. Wheelie bins - these are generally smelly so I'd keep them in the outhouse rooms and get some bin deodorizer. Buy a mix of different vintage wooden stools or chairs to give an eclectic industrial look Pots - I'd keep the plants to a couple of well looked after large tubs and keep either side of the roller door. These could be on moveable trolleys so they're easy to move if necessary. Finishing Touches - This is the fun part! Some rustic candelabras for the table, outdoor wall clock with Roman numerals, artwork could be a collection of vintage street signs, string of outdoor lights wrapped around the beams (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/37-5-Foot-S14-Outdoor-Globe-String-Lights-Set-of-25-S14-Clear-Edison-Bulbs) These are just some ideas - have fun & enjoy!

Thanks Jonathan - I have been looking at porcelain, albeit I've heard mixed reviews as to whether or not they can be slippy when wet. I need to look into it more.

LVT or Laminate flooring?

Both Laminate and Vinyl are Graded using AC (Abrasation Class) Rating, is a measure of a floors resistance to abrasion, impact, stains etc.... The ratings also indicate that the product has been tested for the effects of furniture legs, castors, and swelling along its edges. AC 1 Residential, Moderate Traffic: Suitable for bedrooms or guest rooms AC 2 Residential, General Traffic: Suitable for living rooms or dining rooms AC 3 Residential, Heavy Traffic: Suitable for all areas AC 4 Commercial, Moderate Traffic: Hotel rooms, small office etc......... AC 5 Commercial, General Traffic: Office, boutique, café, stores etc...... All of our products start from AC3 and go to AC5. Do you have an idea of colours? Concrete drying time before laying LVT flooring

It would all depend on the thickness of the concrete slab. Certainly my brothers kitchen took around 3 months to fully dry before the LVT went down. They had the rest of the kitchen fitted, so were able to use it whilst waiting. Quick Step have a nice explanation about time frames here https://www.quick-step.co.uk/en-gb/frequently-asked-questions/laminate/preparation-and-installation/how-long-should-i-wait-before-i-can-lay-quick-step-laminate-on-a-fresh-concrete-floor-or-screed. It basically says it’s 1 week per cm depth for the first 4 cms. If it’s deeper than 4 cms, the next two cms need two weeks drying time each, and if it’s deeper than 6 cms, each cm will need 4 weeks of sting time. So if your slab is 7 cm deep, the first 4 cm would take 4 weeks to dry, 5 and 6 cm deep would take another 4 weeks (2 weeks per cm) and then the 7th cm adds another 4 weeks. Total of 12 weeks.
