I have dug up all the plants (lavender and rosemary) in my old planter and would like to replace them with three hydrangea bushes. I believe I have and can create suitable soil conditions for planting blue hydrangea but need advice from Houzzers who are also plant/hydrangea experts as to the best type of blue hydrangea available in the UK for my planter. I am looking for a species that meets the following criteria: - potential to be as blue as blue hydrangeas can get - fit within the planter - 2.6m x 0.8m - see photo - apologies for the mess - I put it down to work in progress :) - height not exceeding 1.8m - extended flowering season Thanks.

Hi, stacey -- the layout is of course the first thing to get right, following that you can mimic daylight by hiding the light sources in both the cabinets and around the edges of the room -- layering the light is key, so that you don't have just one bright source. Luckily LEDs these days don't cost the earth! It will be important, however, to create the places in which to hide the light sources, which may mean making adjustments to walls and ceilings....

It would be good to see a pic but I think if you were able to slide a shelf over the top and down the length of the 6ft part then I would put some threaded bar stud fixings into the driftwood and groove out the shelves to sit on top so as they are out of sight when the shelf sits on them. Hope that makes sense.

It may be worth talking to any Vinyl sign maker, the ones that do sign writing on vans nowadays, I have used them to create wraps for mirrors in a couple of bars I worked on. I got them to do the application too as they know exactly what they are doing.
