bedroom layout advice
We are looking for ideas on how to incorporate a fitted wardrobe or walk in wardrobe into this room and still fit a king sized bed

Comments (10)In our loft conversion we have a D shaped rigid one piece bath under the eaves. It is centred under a dormer window so that when you climb out there is no problem with height. I think it is a good use of a tricky space. When the bed has arrived we will look further into building a partition wall and see if there is enough space. Comments (14)Using the alcoves for your wardrobes is a traditional layout but one that works. I can't make out the room dimensions but it should give you space to have your dressing table left of the window (if you're looking at the window) which will let you make the most of natural light when getting ready. You may fine that what is currently the chimney breast will actually become a recess as I think your wardrobes will come out beyond the middle wall so you could add shelving here or create a feature on the wall with photos and/or prints or hang a large mirror. again, I can't see the measurements but if it fits another option would be to have your bed between the wardrobes and have a headboard that also works as a shelf in place of night stands. Personally I think you should move the oversized ensuite because it reduces the width of the room where you have the best head height.
If that is not possible then consider making the ensuite smaller or consider if there is a space on the floor below that is better as the master

This is how the room looked before we moved in. You can see some wardrobes along the wall (Both sides) and there is a bench where the window is next to the bathroom.
This layout didn’t work for us (with the bed or wardrobes) so we want to start again

Hi rakhs,
I agree with others. The best area in the loft was given to the en-suite. In these type of conversions its common to have the bathroom on the sloped side.
There's not much you can do without some building work, so I think the minimum you could do is add a shower over the bath tub and remove the existing one. This will create much better dimensions to work with. I would then turn the bathroom door 90 degrees and build the area next to the bathroom into your walk in wardrobe. Additionally if you rotate the bedroom entrance 90 degrees it will also allow you to create a storage area. These changes will create a nice square shape i.e. a nicer aesthetic to the bedroom. Each of the new spaces would have natural light i.e. a window.
