Kitchen colour help! In such a tizzy!

Can't decide on kitchen colours! I've attached moodboard so you can see the general vibe I'm going for; with marble effect quartz, antique brass handles, stainless steel oven and shelving rather than wall units. I've gone back and forth 100 times to the point I'm not sure what I even like or what looks good anymore, so thought I'd get try to source out opinions!

Comments (20)If its a dark room then reflective surfaces will help .. but maybe step back and look at the style before you introduce colour? The detail on the doors make it a bit dated for an ultra modern look, but a vivid color would change things up, where pastels and neutrals may feel a bit samey ! Comments (19)Thanks all for your help, we haven't got underfloor heating and I have two very messy boys especially with water so I think engineered wood is out and so are real tiles as they would be so cold. Its a north facing room so I'm very aware I need to warm the look of the room up as the grey and the white walls are looking very stark now. Karndean, amtico and poyflor are the companies i'll look at then. Has anyone used polyflor? They seem much cheaper than the other two companies? And oneplan would grey flooring look weird against the grey wood Worktop? Bit too matchy? I'd like to go a bit more modern Scandi kitchen. Unfortunately my husband likes country style hence the kitchen handles and look we chose. But now I want to warm it up a bit and give it a more Scandi look?! Comments (25)I would have poo poo’d this idea before as I’d wonder what the point was, but make your self a mood board using the colours roughly in the same ratios. Are you planning on having some artwork as this may be the lynchpin that helps it hang all together. Pulling colours through from that will help the scheme. Tonal can be soft and soothing but needs layering up with texture to create a cohesive scheme. Comments (23)I think your kitchen looks timeless, but the idea of dark handles to match the chair legs would pull it together and the Roman blind idea is also better. The cabinets could be painted, but it’s important to have an excellent job done, otherwise it could easily be a bad decision. I’d want to have my bin in a cupboard too. The idea of a bigger glass door would be great, if you aren’t going to extend in the future, otherwise not worth the expense. It might be good to have a cheerful cloth on the table, that echoes the Roman blind and possibly a rug under it, which would zone the area, but it seems a “busy” view into the hall, would it be possible to have milky glass doors to keep the two areas out of view from each other, without loosing light? The paint colours on the walls could be changed to zone the dining area from the working area too and more pictures/hanging plates always cheer up bare walls, but that’s just my views, whatever you do, it’s your home, nota show house and you’ve got to live in it, so whatever you choose, will be right for you....See More- 6 years ago
