Dear Houzzers, help! Building our home, and while we thought we had our colours figured out during planning, it seems that we don't. Can anyone provide advice? We were looking at Dulux Narrow Neck (see collage, it's the small light grey/green colour down the bottom) and Colorbond woodland grey (dark grey green). We are in Australia, live in a very green patch in suburbia - next to a park and a creek, lots of trees. Dilemma is - which parts should be darker, and which ones the lighter colour? We have a stacked stone column in front (see the non-rendered brick column by the entry) and wooden garage doors and front door. The finishes are mixed - rendered brick and 3 types of cladding. Any advice is most welcome! Lilly

We are about to embark upon a house re-design - existing and proposed plans attached. I am keen to use a Rockpanel Chameleon Cladding on the front of the house (which is on the beach) - this material changes colour depending on the effect of the light and the angle from which it is viewed (in this case blue to green to purple). Originally we thought to put the material in the middle of the house, however, this doesn't look right - so not sure. We will probably increase the 3 window/door panels on the left to four - all ideas gratefully received.

Hi Victoria Thanks so much and sorry I've not replied sooner. Hardie Plank is going up and looks great. Builder happy - he says it's really easy to do. And neighbour likes it. So all good.

Hey Saml1992, We did get the bradstone rendered, we went for K-Rend all over, including covering the existing render on the extension - and we couldnt be happier with the finish. We also decided to combine it with cement board cladding and it all came up a treat. I just took this photo (apologies its a bit gloomy here) so you can compare it to what it used to look like! The render and cement board has been up for 14 months now. (Still not finished the front steps though!)
