Hi Have you considered using Krion as a facade? It is unaffected by sudden weather changes, extremely damp conditions or arid climates, making it the perfect covering for any building. In addition, the ability to thermoform this material determines the possibility of creating any design. Each project is studied and resolved by experts, a highly specialised technical team that guides the architect in their exploration of the new possibilities offered by this innovative construction system. We are about to embark upon a house re-design - existing and proposed plans attached. I am keen to use a Rockpanel Chameleon Cladding on the front of the house (which is on the beach) - this material changes colour depending on the effect of the light and the angle from which it is viewed (in this case blue to green to purple). Originally we thought to put the material in the middle of the house, however, this doesn't look right - so not sure. We will probably increase the 3 window/door panels on the left to four - all ideas gratefully received.

I really like the combination of white render and stone. Rather than painting it white, have you considered using K Rend. These are self-coloured renders, with the benefit of never having to re-paint.

In my opinion it depends on budget. The best option is to take off the wood cladding and coving and then get a plasterer in. The budget option is to sugar soap these walls to ensure there is no wallpaper paste residue, then fill and sand any cracks and also use decorators calk to fill cracks in corners and next to woodwork. Then you need to mist coat the walls which is basically a watered down coat of paint. When that is dry it will need two rollered coats of emulsion (3 if it’s a strong colour). A very flat Matt paint shows imperfections least. After the first coat of paint check it for any bits that might need more filling. In conclusion the key to a nice finish on the walls is lots of preparation and then a low/ no sheen paint.
