Wet wall panels upstairs

You could move the loo. By paneling out, the toilet cistern and all unsightly pipework can be concealed, creating a sharper finish and it's more practical too. The bath with shower over is very attractive if done properly.

I would use a bi-fold door to save space in the room. See attached .

Thank you that. I was hoping to avoid having the shower by the window. I don’t really know why but thought water might sit on the window sill and make it damp. I love the loo being somewhere different. I guess it would depend on the “slope” required to reach the existing pipe

I think where the sink is would be a perfect spot for the shower cubicle. We removed our bath and had a similar dilemma - bath’s are so narrow! If you could measure the width of the back wall from the wall where the sink is to the doorway you may get in a quadrant shower cubicle. We chose one with a glass sliding doors as we had so little space, but you may have more Space and could have a door opening out (facing the window). Ours measures 900 x 900. Don’t go below 800 x 800 as that would be too narrow. I actually went to a bath showroom and walked into the cubicles to see how it felt (700 x 700 was minute!). We moved our sink to the same wall as the bath was, nearer the window. That may work for you. Here’s my layout and please excuse my rubbish drawing!

The window sill looks to be outside the splash zone but it won't matter as long as you tile into the reveal and prep the sill properly. Here's one we did several years ago. We finished the corner with chrome strip.

With pipework behind a panel, you should have no trouble with the gradient.

If you preferred, you could put the cabinet on the opposite wall so that it would be set back from the door a little more - again I was thinking of the soil pipe but it would be possible.

That looks great Sonia. I have about 950mm between the sink wall and the door so could definitely fit a shower in there. In our house we had an 800 x 800 and found that small so would want the 900

Soil pipes have a lot to answer for!!! We aren’t having a bath in there but can see it where you are coming from with the window being out of the splash zone. And it opens up the room

You can’t see the soil pipe from mine as I bought a loo that covers it all up. Something like this

We already have the toilet. It’s a wall hung to give the illusion of space. And a small concealed cistern. I will have to get a plumber to check if the soil pipe can be moved. Even it can move slightly to the right like yours Sonia would make a huge difference

Ah yes - should have read the brief more carefully!

As Sonia says, there's room in the corner. The only problem there is if the pipework can't be run under the floor, you would end up with quite a deep shower tray/platform and boxing along that wall which I always try to avoid but it's a matter of preference.

On the plus side you could have a wider cabinet, with a run of mirror cabinets above and shelving arrangement around the window - not shown on the plan. I've also moved the loo - it's slightly throne like right in the centre like that.

Hi Sarah,

As you can see a square shower tray is going to work to much better than a rectangle shower tray. It is going to allow you much more space and open up the room.

I would suggest keeping the base of the room light (tiles and paint), and then go ahead and incorporate darker shades. On the wall, where the sink sits, add a large mirror to enhance the space in the room, this is a simple and easy way to trick the eye into thinking a room is bigger than it is.

A wall hung toilet and skin cabinet is going to increase the floor space of the room.

From a decorative side of things I would recommend black framed glass around the shower, this is a substile dark colour introduction without over doing it, and the glass will still keep the room open.

I will post some images below of what I think could work.
