Comments (30)Last night we finished most of the decorating, just a few snagging bits to do. So we decided to play. :) We put the Ikea grey cabinet together and reassembled the office desks. I dug out another print I have had for years by Delauney and popped it on the fireplace, it looks as if it was made to be there! The coffee table is a one off by a local furniture maker from an off cut of sycamore. It's never looked right where we had it but in this room it's found a home. The mustard yellow blanket under it is to represent a rug, I think it works pretty well. More things to sort including taking the door off and planing the bottom as it's catching on the floor and putting up shelves to make a cat superhighway to a hidey hole on the built in cupboard but I really like how this is coming together now. View from the door. From the built in cupboard. From the window. Just wanted to say thanks again for all the response, ideas and encouragement. You guys are awesome....See MoreI want to find a bathroom sink that has an integral soap dish.
Comments (14)Agree with Jonathan - lots of choice on auction sites and mostly reclaimed so absolutely the best choice in terms of environmental impact. (Also from a cost point of view too!). There’s also a few new traditional styles that have soap draining areas (from what I can see, they are mainly recessed areas that have a draining point, so not strictly a soap dish). Heritage is just one brand that have several models that might fit the bill. Sadly I think all options are more traditional styles. If you want a more contemporary look, there’s loads of nice soap dishes on the market....See MoreNeed help buying a sofa for new place..
Comments (6)We struggled to get our sofas into our house and ended up going through neighbours gardens! We’ve since also had an extension, so our sofas are here to stay because we won’t be able to get them out 😂. With that in mind - they’re are now a few sofa-in-a-box companies. I can’t find any nice leather ones, but i think the Swyft Model 2 is a good shape. You can order swatches of fabrics - their velvets are lovely. https://swyfthome.com/products/model-02-velvet-3-seater-sofa-brick...See MoreStudio Apartment Ideas // Help?
Comments (7)What a terrible use of space. I would love to see what arcitect would put his name to this. I can't get my head round why anyone would deisgn it like this. It could easily be twice the size it is if you removed the ridiculous amount of corridors! Anyway my suggestion would be to remove the last panel on the partition wall and then leave the remainder of the wall permentally closed. That would give you wall to place the TV against if you use the 2nd "bedroom" as a cosy living space. Put down a large rug to cover a lot of the floor in there and a nice comfy sofa. In the actual living space I would put the home office facing out of that large window (which is one positive to the flat). Working at a desk and being able to look at all that greenery will be bliss. A dining space just in front of the kitchen for entertaining. This would be the more "functional" part of the house as its already next to the kitchen you can create more of an office vibe. I would suggest using the wasted space in those wide corridors for staorage but the flat already appears to have way too much storage space so maybe some console tales, a bench and mirrors....See More- 5 years ago
