I don't use the bath ever but I have an over head shower, perfect but if we didn't have a small bathroom I would just have a shower, reasons why we had a bath put in when we renovated was of a selling point.

Hello Fei Fei, It would be best to have the small loo and cloakroom downstairs as you have. Then you could open the reception and take out bathroom and have a fully open plan living and kitchen area downstairs. This will give you more living space. Better to have a smaller bedroom upstairs and bigger living/dining/kitchen area downstairs. Make bedroom two or remove adjoining wall between rooms to make both rooms slightly smaller to add a small room- double (split into two) cubicle wet room style bathrooms with wall hung loo and little sink which has access from both bedrooms via a sliding doorway.... So in effect they both have an all be it small but functioning fabulous en suite loo and shower cubicle.. You may not have a bath but you have a small and they can be beautiful shower room.. for each bedroom.. but also you would have a very large living space below.. and still have a loo downstairs.. : ))

@john clark I have just bought a walk in shower tray with fixed screen with black profile and support arm for £365 from showertraysuk if you are looking for that rather than over shower bath. Like Katie I got my shower (£160) and exposed trap (£45) for the basin from Victoria Plumb, pop up waste off soak.com (£12.99) taps very similar to Katie but with a rounded spout again off ebay (£65) I've not yet fitted my bathroom but I hope it looks as good as yours Katie!!

I'm glad you are going to keep it, I think the sage green of this suite is spot on with today's trends....pair it with some warm grey slightly lighter on the walls and it will sing! Lots of modern chrome in taps and mirrors and it will look cutting edge. I'd go with a slightly darker tone of grey on the floor, maybe that textured industrial vinyl with the circular pattern, or something softer and plain if you are not that game. Add a tiny bit of wood - a wicker style plant pot or something, to soften the look. I've got mirrored cabinets on my walls for hiding bottles etc. They have sexy LED lighting and also demisting built in so no desperate wiping of mirrors when you are out of the shower. Many, many years ago (in Oz) I did a bathroom with a 1930s primrose suite...pale lemon. Tied it with terracotta on the floor, white tiled walls and a Portugese hand painted rustic border tile with a bit of strong yellow in the pattern. Looked fantastic but not exactly cutting edge these days, unless you have a rural holiday home on the continent.
