Sounds fine to me, I love panelling and intricate wooden floors! It could easily go for a classic Georgian, or a contemporary style. If you need help visualising it I specialise in 3D modelling for interiors so you could see what its like and play with option before you do it.
It will look amazing. Panelling has been used for hundreds of years in decor and it had a resurgence during the Arts & Crafts movement and it’s still very popular today. Whether it has a “title” I really don’t know, but it is lovely. First two pics are original traditional panelling and the others are given a modern makeover.
It sounds lovely. Sometimes it works well to tie the style of the panelling into the age/period of the house. What age is yours? There are loads of panelling ideas around atm, everyone went panelling mad during lockdown 😂
I’d also make sure the actual design works proportionally with the ceiling height
