Having obtained planning permission, I‘d like to know how much does it cost to build a 2 storey side extension and the time it would usually take to complete the Work?
That depends a huge amount on the extension itself, the level of finishes you choose, what groundworks are required, what the access to the site is like and whether it includes a kitchen and bathrooms. Take a look online and you’ll find per sq metre coatings for different qualities of finish. Add 50% to them. Then if that sounds doable, get 3 builders in to do detailed quotes. Tell them you already have planning permission as this makes it much easier to get them to come out (it’s a lot of work for a builder to do a quote so they need to know you’re serious). Ask your architect for builder recommendations, as well as friends and neighbours who have had work done recently.
Depends on lots of factors but a 24square meter extension (so big enough upstairs for two medium bedrooms and a small bathroom) will be between £60-70,000
