stuck for finishing colour scheme for galley kitchen
Comments (5)If you're going for a white worktop I'd go for a grey splashback as a stronger contrast than the ones you've mentioned. I'd also keep the splashback one level rather than take it up to meet the oven hood. Alternatively try grey Quartz with an upstand and no splashback. A white or grey resin floor would look good but not sure if it's possible in a flat plus I think they're rather dear! Alternatively a karndean floor but I'd opt for something with grey/brown tones rather than yellow. Or grey concrete effect tiles or white wooden boards I think would also look good. I found a couple of great pics earlier I thought I'd saved but unfortunately not!...See MoreGalley Kitchen tiles
Comments (24)Ideally you’d choose something with little contrast to the walls/units so I wouldn’t look at white with a grey grout if that’s your goal. I’d also avoid small tiles as the grout lines make it look busy. What’s going on the floor as would have said the same as colourhappy! Something with a gloss finish can also help bounce light so will make it feel bigger but not sure if the units are gloss or Matt?...See MoreColour ideas for small galley kitchen??
Comments (12)Hi - hope you don’t mind a non colour related remark? In order for the fridge doors to be able to own fully properly, you will need space the right of the FF, between it and the wall. So perhaps move the ff over one cupboard to the left and use the space that cupboard and wall units provided with a tall cabinet and top box instead. That will give the FF door the room it need to swing properly. ( and have ovens with recessed handles to avoid denting the FF door on the oven handles ) Also from a design perspective, that’s a lot of wall cabinets to have both sides ...It might be an idea to have the side with tall cabinetry ‘fully loaded ‘ with wall cabinets - but to keep the other side with just base cabinets and a ceiling installed extractor, therefore keeping it as clear as it can be - otherwise you may feel this is a very imposing and enclosed space. One last comment - then I’ll shut up and carry on rendering this project that I’m up early working on.... If you change the bulk of the drawer line base cabibets in to pan drawers ( one shallow and two deep) base cabinets. It makes them more accessible, rather than having to bend down to see what’s at the back of a dark base unit....See MoreWill this combination look okay for a galley kitchen?
Comments (5)How wide is the kitchen and what type of hob are you having? Depending on hob type and the distance of the rings you could continue the laminate as the splashback. Formica would appear to do a glossy finish, this is calacatta which I can't actually see on the website now but they do a Carrera version. I've just seen your other post and if you want something classic then you can't go wrong with a wood/wood effect floor. I'd also go for an aged brass tap and maybe see if you can find some flush/semi-flush pendants with a touch of brass. I do agree with OnePlans comment that it may be a little imposing having wall units both sides. Maybe consider a couple of shelves on the oven side which you can accessorise to add texture /colour?...See MoreC L
