Hallway Help!!!!

Would like some help with my hallway please. We’ve just removed the radiator cover as it looked too bulky in our hallway but not sure what to do now. It all just seems abit plain. We’ve added a mirror… we thought about swapping the radiator, maybe adding a shelf above it? The quarry tiles I don’t know whether to keep or cover over.. I’d like to paint the hallway as well but not sure what colour would go with the red quarry tiles? Help please! Any suggestions would be brilliant!

I think if you were to put a shelf over the radiator and put some ornaments and/or pictures on it then it would make all the difference.

I would swap the radiator for a flat panel style which disappears into the wall. Sadly hall radiators become a dumping ground for wet hats & gloves in winter. I have lived with red quarry tiles in a large enclosed porch. They seemed to suck the light out of the area. Changing the flooring made such a difference

There is a trend now to put walls back up instead of taking them all down. Walls can be useful. A mix of open plan and defined rooms I think works best for family life. I suggest the following: - if possible create a buggy / bike store in the front garden. The buggy phase generally does pass quickly so don't plan your house around prams. - I'd reinstate the wall and close off the french doors. Hi, photos of the hall will help, but here are some ideas. Do you really have to keep the laundry bin in the hall? Can't it be in the bathroom or bedroom? Anyway, Ikea's shoe storage cabinets aren't only suitable for shoes. Also, a narrow shelf (think picture shelf) above the radiator perhaps?

Your hallway is beautiful, but I understand the dark issue! It has made me think about a couple of instagram people that I follow... The first is semi_in_suburbia who had a similar dark hallway and has since painted it. Thank you for the ideas so far, I hesitated about a mirror as we have mirrors all over the house and I don't want people to think we're vain!!! But it is crying out for one I agree. I have a canvas that would look good over the radiator and I could change the wall light for a spotlight. We inherited the carpets from the previous owner and can't replace at the moment, but I did wonder if a rug would make it into a space in its own right. I agree that an 'over the radiator' table or shelf would look lovely, although I think your radiator would look lovely if it were changed to a 2 column old school style one personally, in white. Then a shelf or radiator table over it (as in the photos added by the previous poster). Then some accessories by the ever stylish Kelly Hoppen and a plant, and it will look great. Good mirror by the way.

Could you put a rug or long runner on the floor? Personally I don’t like quarry tiles, although lots of people like the ‘rustic’ nature of them. They seem a bit utilitarian rather than warm & welcoming for a hallway to me. They also look a bit at odds with the colour / style you have.
