Socket and switches colour

I plan to have brass type fixtures in lighting and handles in the house ... most likely a mixture of the darker metals in there too so as to not overwhelm with brass.
I'm looking at sockets and switches and would love to see any photos of ones the though have against a white wall or jeut generally any advice as to whether I should go for them or what type of finishing on the brass I should look for. Thank you so much

I personally would go for brushed chrome or brushed black aluminum sockets and switches. It adds more contrast and gives you more flexibility if you change fixtures and hardware later on down the line. Brass sockets and switches can look quite dated so this would keep the scheme looking more contemporary.

Antique brass looks good, however yellowish brass can look a bit dated

Thanks for your comments. I think that's actually a valid point regarding taking the colour of the wall the socket is going on into account. I think white might be the best option for lighter more gentle coloured walls, but for walls that are painted dark I can see that the anthracite or black nickel would work well as the white would stand out too much in contrast...but ideally I'd like them to be uniform throughout the house... decisions decisions :-)

I think it tends to look better if all sockets and switches match throughout the house. I would leave them and bring in warmth with art, accessories etc

White all the way, unless you have dark coloured walls. If you want something smarter than white plastic, check out Focus Horizon metal flat plate range in matt white finish. Satin stainless steel can look good in kitchens

I think you need to consider what socket colour will look right in different rooms. They need to flow. For me I wouldn’t want a different colour socket in just one room. White is a nice neutral colour. I would aim for the same colour in each room.
