Light switches and socket colour

Hello all need some advice please

we have off white / White / cream walls ans white coving and white panelling on walls with light grey marbles floor matt porcelein tiles in the downstairs .

I like the satin brass colour switches and sockets for the Hall way and front room as I think it adds warmth to the mutes colours on the floor and walls but worried I won’t be able to match main light fittings or decoration easily and that’s it might look dated or too much ... thinking to stay chrome in the kitchen and upstairs - what do you all think ?

Not a fan of turning switches into decor. They look best plain white and unnoticeable.

In son’s house he had MK. Recommended by the electrician and he has been pleased with them. They were only white but I presume they’ll do colour choices too. To be honest in the whole of the renovation of his house (and it was gutted and unliveable when he purchased it) light sockets were the only thing he really insisted on choosing. Everything else he asked me or dad. Weird lad ;-))

Hi I'd definitely recommend spending a little extra and having the Brass sockets to match the Togle Light switches. I worked for a client in Norfolk, who had everything matching with togle switches too,(you can see pics on my projects page) and the difference between the standard white sockets to having the matching Brass, is undeniable, and makes the space looking 'finished' as apposed to maybe changing in future. Some prefer the more discrete look of a clear sockets or white socket on a light wall, but if there's budget, and you're drawing the eye already to the togle switch and I'm assuming you like the Brass colour in this room, why not add this with other sockets and accessories etc. Hope this helps! I personally would go for brushed chrome or brushed black aluminum sockets and switches. It adds more contrast and gives you more flexibility if you change fixtures and hardware later on down the line. Brass sockets and switches can look quite dated so this would keep the scheme looking more contemporary.

😂 It's not always possible but matching fittings throughout tends to look much better but also blended with the walls! I'd go for white in this instance and add warmth with a brass lamp, art, cushions etc

Agree, not a fan of chrome or brass switches. If anything, these items want to be hidden.

We tend to specify Click Definity screwless flat plate switches and sockets that come in a range of colours.

White all the way, unless you have dark coloured walls. If you want something smarter than white plastic, check out Focus Horizon metal flat plate range in matt white finish. Satin stainless steel can look good in kitchens
