I have tried large plants and they don't last due to not enough natural light. I am not a massive lover of artificial plants! I cannot move the white cabinet or re-locate the TV. Any suggestions?
The only issue is the TV aerial points are fixed to that side of the room and plug sockets! Hence why that cabinet this there. I did have that plant in that corner originally, but appeared to be dying!!
Is there definitely no way of moving the aeriel? Or if you have sky change to sky Q where i dont ”think” an aeriel socket is needed (technophobe!). Or does the tv fit in front of the stairs although hard to tell if the sofa would then fit! Or if budget allows change to the samsung art tv (although im never too sure where the sky box then goes!)
I think I’d add shelves (in the whole of the alcove rather than a cupboard at the bottom). Maybe art on the other side behind the chair and move the plant towards the window a tad. Something in a contrasting colour or maybe a black frame could detract the eye from the tv a little
We can help you with that just message me on whatsapp (+989036509656) to see our products we got 10% lower prices than other reigens in UK and of course free delivery 🤗
I tried painting the tv unit in the wall colour (or similar!) but I would try some white accessories etc on the shelves first if you went for the shelf option, just think the tv/unit stands out more atm with the black and white contrast?
Adm furniture, if you’re going to spam this site, you should at least direct your spam to the original poster not someone else on the thread, and with a product that they’ve actually enquired about. The things you’ve posted make no sense in the context of this question. You’re wasting your own and everyone else’s time. I’m baffled by the marketing strategies of lots of “pros” on Houzz who post all sorts of nonsense which is actually very damaging to your business. Marketing only works when you target the correct product at the correct consumer in the correct context. I’m afraid you’ve failed on all 3 counts.
hegehog99 I'm sorry i'm actually new here don't know how it actually works thanks for your suggestion but we're here about 10 years we'll be here in this industry anyway thank you
I think if you could get a new power/aerial socket as others have suggested I would put the TV where the armchair is and put the armchair by the arched alcove and create a reading or music corner - depending on your interests - by adding shelves to that alcove as Minnie101 suggests
Back to the plants that can cope in that corner - Peace Lily tolerates shade well. It even droops when it wants watering. The Mother in Laws Tongue is also hardy, but must be watered irregularly. More plants die from overwatering than anything else.
Is the chimney Brest hollow? Could you move the tv onto the wall to the left of the fire place? This would mean pulling the wires from your Aerial through the walls of the chimney but would look very tidy as you wouldn’t be able to see them in the new position. You can then pop the sofa where the tv is and put the chair where your sofa is or even get another sofa as you would have the space. Then the arch space could be built in storage that could hold everything that’s currently in the tv unit? There are some lovely arch cabinetry ideas I have screen shotted for you. I hope you find the solution that works for you ☺️
Thank you Faye for your comments. Unfortunately the chimney breast is solid brick so that unfortunately wouldn’t be an option and I think my settee is to long to fit on the wall and would be almost (width) touching the hearth. Sometimes I feel I should get rid’ of the cabinet for a small one that isn’t white but then I have the problem of the tv looking to big for a smaller cabinet and I’m not in a position to change both.
Hmmm, I kinda want to put the TV on the diagonal in the space. How I would go about that, i'm not quite sure. Maybe a bespoke unit? Then a simple shelf above. If not, try your lamp there with the pouf.
