how about a wallpaper to the other 3 walls a black pattern with a light background or the other way around black background wallpaper with a lighter print on. It could tie the room together better. As its a tv room it will give a nice warm feeling to it. The tan sofa will sit nicely and you can add cushions that have tan and black prints. Prestigious and harlequin have on nice options or possibly villa nova. i have attached a couple of images both very different in styling depending on your taste.

hi Carolina, I really appreciate you taking the time to help me and love your ideas. I should have added more detail but you managed to visualize the layout quite closely. Actually, no door in dining area , only access thru sitting room. Love the area rug and have Macys one which will work perfectly - might pull a greyish -blue color from rug for walls maybe similar to the example you provided. Also have two mid-century style floor lamps which I can use. I really like the idea of a mural as the Wow - only concern is that radiator is on that wall. Do you think I could work around that somehow? Shelving will work perfectly - I was thinking something from Ikea or JLewis. Agree that blind is better and like curtains on patio door side. I am really hooked on the mural suggestion . Thanks and I will post a updated photo to show you the final result when we get everything done -hopefully by Dec. -especially now that I have something to show 'the main man'. i like the blind and i like the idea of a soft kinda dullish pink :) And the room palette so far is dusky warm grey (sofa) , white (walls, shelfs, skirtings, ) warm earthy browns ( storage boxes, floors, floor lamp, . If i added pink would that mean everything else would be pink as in cushions and accessories or? But as for lights i was thinking something industrial idk but should they be darker woody tones or light tones, hmmm,, any thoughts out there!!? x This is the rug i have ordered :):):):) ,, Dream room I did find this room lol,, because it has the colours . Look at that wonderful doorway and gold ceiling and chaise lounge etc etc ,^^ and my flooring is just a tad darker ;) maybe the wheel industrial ceiling pendant might be a tad too industrial,, all thoughts welcome on lighting ^^ Then there is the smaller chandelier style hmm,, i need expert advice on this Maybe curtains could be a lighter colour similar to the rug ? The Living Room at the moment ,, its screaming for something ^^
