need help with bungalow exterior and floor plan cannot change foot print or height
Comments (5)nice house. where is it? i would start with a floor plan (measure the exterior and interior space and include window locations and heights) and then draw it up. then i would add a roof plan (draw the ridges, valleys and eaves on a piece of paper over the floor plan). then you want to get up into the attic space (if any) and find out if the roof rafters are bearing on any of the interior walls. this will let you know which walls are structural and which are simply partition walls (no structure on top of them). a floor plan will help others advise you about flow. if you want to knock down a bearing wall you will have to put in a column support or a structural header. 150 sq. m would be 1350 s.f. for U.S. posters. maybe there is an architecture student in your area that can help get it organized? it would be a good project for them......See MoreWhich bathroom layout....
Comments (53)This one bothered me........a lot...........kept me awake in fact.......terrible insomnia. Thus when I gave up and got up at 5am, I drew up this one.........to scale. The third bedroom for me is the issue. If you're going to the trouble of removing a bathroom and resiting it, then make the most of every available inch and make it worth it. The little bedroom as is, just re-using the bathroom, will not work for long. It's just too small. Once you've put a bed in there eventually, there's no room for anything else. Plus, you don't have to do it like that.......so, amend it. A flat with 3 good sized rooms is worth more and more importantly will last you a lot longer, saving costs on having to move.Basically with regards bedroom 3, I put two doors in the middle wall that's causing the problem for everyone. I pushed back the left hand wall to include the space under the stairs, giving the room a built in wardrobe. I put a square top right to give access to the Hallway for that bedroom and bedroom 2, since we didn't want bed 2 opening in to the lounge. Bedroom 3 then has plenty of room for a cot, a chest of drawers and a nursiing chair. Plus, when you want to move to a bed, it still has room for everything. The En-suite is sufficient and the family bathroom quite large, large enough for shower and bath to help future use....See MoreFloor plan options
Comments (0)Hi we are due to move into a new property. We are unsure on how we can change the layout. The bathroom is currently downstairs. This isn’t a problem as such, we could extend the bathroom to the same length as the kitchen however this would make the bathroom long and skinny, ideally would it be worth extending the kitchen on the side to make it bigger? We have thought about moving the bathroom upstairs into bedroom 3, changing the toilet upstairs into stairs to the loft. We have a baby and I wouldn’t like to be at a different level to her. Plus it’s end terrace so would mean a dormer on the loft. Need to keep the property 3 bedrooms, would be nice to extend above the kitchen as this is a single storey extension but I cannot come up with a floor plan! Also change the toilet upstairs to a small shower toilet and sink. Any ideas welcome! has anyone had this layout before and what did you do to change it? :) I don’t want to start decorating if in a few years time we will be changing the layout....See MoreFloor Plan Help / Changing Layout
