Open plan - wall paint

please can you shar your thoughts on wall paint - the si open plan living with kitchen dining and living area.

trying to create zones

Woul you

1. put a different paint in piano zone?

2. different paint colour in dining zone?

If kitchen is going to be white with dark Slate Grey tall units/ Island, what colour scheme would oyou nsider for walls?

This is a great family space. I wouldn’t use paint to zone the room but, like in you have in the 3D image, zone with the furniture arrangements and rugs. I would merge the seating and piano into 1, with a large rug to define, centralise the seating area and widen as the chairs are currently interrupting the Flow. Put the piano on the wall beside the smaller door with enough room for a stool and circulation. For colour, introduce lots of low maintenance plants, cushions, paintings.

Or shall I put piano between 2 sofas? To integrate it?

Hi. I might look at something with warm green undertones. Perhaps f&b cord or string? You add deep red accents as shown or green. For Little Greene I'd look at Portland stone or Stone pale cool but I think they have a few colours that will work with new white

I think it will look fine but you need a fire escape route from the bedroom and so this plan won't pass building regs. Have you considered putting the kitchen into the bathroom, making the living room bigger by extending into the kitchen then creating a new bathroom off the bedroom

"tear it out" and "structural beam" should never be in the same sentence together. If the previous owners botched it, then it is unlikely you would be able to predict whats holding up what. Please get advice from a structural engineer. It will be a lot cheaper than rebuilding half the house.

I did a large sample piece on my walls with Wevet before buying a 5L tin. Mine doesn’t look any different at any time of the day and I sincerely hope when I do the rest of my kitchen it doesn’t show out as pink. It must be the lighting making it show the pink. Edit: I’ve just enlarged the images and mine is nothing like yours. Very strange.

It depends on how the piano is used. If it’s a dust collector between rare practice 🙃, then off to the side but if you have music sessions regularly then maybe a more central position is warranted.
