Personally I think a tv above a fireplace is uncomfortable to watch and prefer the tv to be at eye level when sat down. I think it is difficult to have two focal points in a long room and so they have chosen a modern fire that has a similarity to a TV and then put a frame around them both to make them a joint focal point. Both of the fires you have posted links for will be no good unless you are prepared to build an internal or external chimney breast. if you go into a fireplace showroom you will see that contemporary flame effect gas fires sit behind the mantlepiece so you will been about 45 cm behind the wall. Moving the gas to the lounge depends on where it is in the house and how your gas engineer can do it.... for instance if you have a floor with a space under in it is a lot easier than if you have concrete floors (as in lots of brand new houses). Instead of these gas fire ideas consider an electric flame effect fire. These are much slimmer.
