Thanks Sarah L for the recommendations. The first two are a bit grey and dreary looking (I get enough of that colour palette with the weather as it is), so I’m looking for something with a bit more pop! Mandarin Stone might be an option so I’ll check that out, but if anyone else has any suggestions please keep them coming!

Thanks Sarah. Funnily enough I bought a sample of this exact tile, but when they arrived, they are totally slippy and not suitable for outside use (even though the pic implies they are 😡).

This is what is totally frustrating when trying to find something appropriate. They showcase them in a location that makes it look like what you want to use them for, but on closer inspection, it doesn’t seem to be the case. Another of those, it looks great on instagram but isn’t practical when it comes to actual usage.

I really don’t want a plain grey/beige porcelain tile but I’m starting to wonder if I’m trying to find something that isn’t actually available in this country. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I did a similar search and found those patterned tiles are slippery and not always suitable for our winters. In the end I found these outdoor porcelain tiles which are grey 😦 and they have gone quite green in places - need a good powerhose I think! Not really what I was looking for. I think patterned tiles are more suitable for hotter climes like Spain or Morroco maybe?

Thanks @carocat24. The ones you linked to were fab but alas the small print says not suitable for a patio 😢 however it does say they do tiles with a high anti-slip rating so I’ve contacted them via email to see which ones meet this criteria. Fingers crossed!

@sonia, sorry to hear you had the same issue. Clearly we both need to live in a hotter, drier, climate! Yours do look lovely though, even if not what you initially wanted.

No doubt in 5 years time, suitable patterned outdoor tiles will be all the rage and we’ll have hundreds to choose from!!

I ordered kitchen & bathroom tiles from the baked tile company & Jackie in the design team was really helpful & will be able to advise on suitable tiles. I think the small print means not suitable on sloping areas of patio (rather than not on a patio full stop, but they’ll know).

We did this last year - I just took this photo now from our balcony:

The tiles are Realonda and are suitable for outside and I confirm are not slippy!

Good luck with your project, I love patterned tiles in a garden but it's true there are hardly any options.

Carocat24, Baked Tiles came back to say their outdoor range are fine for flat patios and are anti-slip so I think you may have found a winning option!! I’m going to order a couple of samples to see.
