Hello Ffion, : )) How are you? We met at one of the events! I agree in your thinking about the dark colour.. It might actually be rather lovely to have a lighter possibly stone colour to go with the marble, things like stone or plaster colours would introduce warmth.. In this way the floor is the darkest element along with the window frame... Or if you wanted to keep to a dark grey for window side and then do the same opposite.. If the room is rather light then I think it can take it colour wise, but it all really depends on your preference re the aesthetic.. Then layer up with slate accessories and woods like shower matt and or cork... Some Aesop soaps and other lovely things like sponges to create a spa feel. Also some more lovely marble pieces to really bring out the look... Happy Easter to you too! : ))

You're welcome! This is an exciting project and I really hope you'll share the results, whatever you decide to do! I think metro tiles are the right way to go. You've already got pattern and bold colour covered so something more simple is probably right for the walls. Besides, it's a classic design. You could do it with a dark grout if you wanted to make a bolder statement. [This Houzz story[(https://www.houzz.co.uk/magazine/decorating-10-different-ways-to-use-classic-metro-tiles-stsetivw-vs~25104664) about metro tiles shows them mostly with dark grout and might help you visualise it. Marble would definitely work and look incredible. Just be careful to bear in mind the structure of the unit and how much weight it can hold. You have to consider the weight of the surface material, the sink, and the water it would have in it when full. Maybe even think about what you're going to fill the cupboards with and how heavy that could be. Perhaps it would be worth reinforcing the vanity in some way. Other than marble you could use tiles or just varnish the surface really well. All of these options will look great in different ways. Even though you're not DIY-ing it, take a look at this "how-to" to give you a better idea of the process. Be brave, and go dark! Often people are scared to as they think it makes a room smaller but actually it can have the opposite effect. Blurring the finishing lines of the room can give the illusion of more space, and if the space isn't particularly bright anyway, embrace it! Feature lighting - LED strips under the vanity, or wall lights - can really come into their own in moodier spaces too - don't underestimate the power of lighting :) For the backsplash, bring in a mosaic, or perhaps to continue the natural look, check out a few textured tiles like below - they have less grout to maintain but still offer a nice contrast: If you need a hand or any assistance with supply of products, advice, or design, check us out if you're local to Surrey or South West London :) - Adam

I think it would be a great idea to reuse the Roca sink (excellent make). My first thought was to stick with warm colours to bring everything together. How about painting the pine unit in dark chocolate? It would go well with the cream, and also with the pink floor tiles. I personally don’t like fake wood cupboards, they just look fake. I agree a wall cupboard, mirrored, would help with any clutter. I like the pink floor tiles, but I know they’re not for everyone! If you have any untiled walls you could paint them a coffee colour, again bringing the warm colours together. Here’s a few pics to picture these ideas.
