Bathroom Paint Colour help!

Hi Houzzers, hope you're enjoying the Easter break so far! Would really appreciate some advice on our en-suite bathroom. Not sure whether to paint the window wall a similar colour to the window i.e. dark grey? as you can see I have painted some paper with a tester but not sure if this is the best idea! currently it's all white with white marble wall tiles and dark grey floor tiles. Want to add some colour but not sure if darkening the room is a good idea. would appreciate any suggestions! FYI today is a very dark miserable day so doesnt look very light however on a sunny day light floods into the room as it's south facing. Thanks in advance for any help!

How are you? We met at one of the events! I agree in your thinking about the dark colour.. It might actually be rather lovely to have a lighter possibly stone colour to go with the marble, things like stone or plaster colours would introduce warmth..

In this way the floor is the darkest element along with the window frame... Or if you wanted to keep to a dark grey for window side and then do the same opposite.. If the room is rather light then I think it can take it colour wise, but it all really depends on your preference re the aesthetic.. Then layer up with slate accessories and woods like shower matt and or cork...

Some Aesop soaps and other lovely things like sponges to create a spa feel. Also some more lovely marble pieces to really bring out the look...

Hi Lovely, I'm loving the tiles in your bathroom and your floor tiles! So I'm with you on this one, go with your gut instinct and paint the walls blue. I suggest something along the lines of Stiffkey Blue, Oval Room Blue or Stone Blue - Farrow and Ball. Make sure you select Modern Emulsion which is designed for bathrooms and kitchen. I see there is dark blue, teals and a bit of green in your bathroom, I suggest you pick whatever works best with your tiles as they are the permanent fixture accessories don't have to be the exact matching shade as that blue. If you are painting the walls dark blue I would leave the blind as is because it has nice subtle detail and you don't want to add too much in such a small space. In terms of the accessories, I would group the plants together as well as any objects and place them in different corners. Sink area looks fine, again I wouldn't want to clutter that area. If you want to update on a budget, then I think painting the walls will help. I think a darker shade would look good, say a coffee or taupe colour maybe? I would paint the shelf the same colour as the walls and then add a plant or two, one hanging down and one spreading up and out. The tiling limits the colour palate, are they pinkish with brown and beige mosaic border? If taupe is not for you, then white walls, wooden shelving and plants would look good. Here’s some ideas

I think the white walls are fine in your bathroom, in fact the walls look more taupe than white on my iPad. It just needs accessorising. I would remove the red accessories which are a little dated, and add some warm metals instead. I don’t mean remove all the chrome, but add, say, a brass soap dispenser, a faux plant in a brass pot, some art on the wall with a brass/gold or black frames. Replace the loo roll holder with a brass one. It’s a nice bathroom which just needs accessorising. Pictures always look good in a bathroom so a picture above the loo and on the adjacent wall will improve things. Some ideas:
