Help with kitchen design!

last year

Finally happy with extension design giving me a living/kitchen/dining space. Only issue is that I feel I don’t have enough kitchen cupboard space. Anyone great at kitchen design?

I’d love to move my 3 oven aga into the kitchen also but given they are almost a meter in length I’m not sure there is anywhere to put it (would be using an electro kit to change from gas to electricity so flue not an issue).

I wondered about having smaller dining table and having a breakfast bar. Also doing away with the side door next to the boiler - I already have access to the back with other doors so this could go. I’d also miss my big American FF that I currently have cause doesn’t seem like I can fit it in. Would also want to vent TD to the outside as I hate condenser dryers!!

Any ideas???

A smaller, or maybe large round table positioned more into the new extension would allow the aga against the stair wall.

I’d put your larger fridge freezer where you are showing the WM and TD with perhaps a tall larder next to it .

if the laundry appliances cant go elsewhere then they swap with the smaller F/F in your plan …stacked if you don’t change the side door to a wndow

you might be able to tuck some cupboard space under the stairs where it’s highest? or even the fridge freezer…or the washing machine, TD accessed from the hallway maybe? also consider a peninsula rather than an island - more seating length, worktop area and storage under

Marble is pretty but worthless if you love cooking a lot. They do make some great marble like quartz products that wouldn't stain easily. If you want to go with natural stone but nothing too dark is go with a salt and pepper like granite, something to distinguish itself from the white cabinetry but also tie in all of the grey tones in the room. I'd start by going into the usual kitchen shops- B&Q Wickes etc and see what's on offer at the moment then give them your measurements and get them to make up one of their 3D kitchens to look at. No obligation to buy!! Look at as many options as possible and pick the best bits from each. You could then get a local joiner to make up what you like, go back to kitchen shop or go elsewhere. Having looked at lots of options really helps.

Hi Justyna, I have the same problem in my kitchen with an angled wall in the corner that has the mains drains so cannot be changed. I used a straight corner unit which meant I could still use the space. A good kitchen fitter should be able to cut the back of the unit around the chimney, the same with the worktop. Hopefully my photo below helps you understand!
