And I actually think the dining room light matches your art work -- the curved stems and the cup shape of the lights mimics a bunch of tulips. Colour wise, for your kitchen I think whites with your existing cabinets could be too tricky. The neutral, pale greys with a touch of green tones will pick up the colour of the dining room cabinet and blend beautifully with any type of cream kitchen cabinet. I would stay clear of blue grey -- unless there's lots of red brick and heavy timbers in the room, it is just too cold for too long up north of the 49th! I used Farrow and Ball's pale powder in my north facing office in Vancouver and it feels warm through the sleety winters and cool enough in the summer. *Bonus* Farrow and Ball paints are from Britain, and the colour palette reflects the colour schemes of Cotswold cottages and London townhouses. They have sample tins! Try skylight, light blue or pale powder. These may also satisfy your sense of nostalgia a bit.

Firstly, your living room looks amazing!! I think that it does need something else though. Nesting tables/side tables would be great. Try something like these? These would look great as they'd match your current colour scheme. These lightly gold coloured nesting tables would look elegant and compliment your blush/neutral coloured sofas and table lamp. Also, might be good to add some extra accessories that are a little different such as - Coral pieces always add a unique touch to any home and these would definitely match your colour scheme perfectly. Glass squat jars are extremely popular at the moment, with this smoked one you could leave it empty or fill. If you're looking for a mirror, these would look lovely above your fireplace as theyre elegant and charming but also unusual which will attract attention to the centre which would hopefully help even out. You could add a number of things to help bring life to the room. You have chosen the perfect muted colour scheme that will complement lots of art work and colours. From your photos I would say you could add a large mirror above the fire place- you could go for something to complement the period of the property and fireplace or something slightly more industrial would work as it looks like you are already mixing contemporary and period with your choices of furniture and finishes. Art will be a huge help as well. Choose some large and smaller pieces to compliment the size of the room- you look like you enjoy your music and media (from the large tv and speakers) maybe some repro or original posters of favourite films? Or framed vinyl covers of you favourite albums. Pick things that you aesthetically connect with. Art is personal and should be something you enjoy every time you look at it, so pick pieces because you like them. It doesn’t need to be expensive. You could also think about a statement clock in the room as well. Lots of options I would say. Do not feel limited by a particular colour scheme with the art- go with things you enjoy looking at. For the sofa -with throws-mimic nature- stick to earthy tones grey browns you can pick up lots of cosy throws in these colours or animal Hyde type colours or actual Hyde’s...and once you have chosen your art- find cushions that are different sizes and textures (not leather) to help soften the look of the sofa and draw the eye away from its shape and on to the cushions! Or go with the nature theme and embrace the animal Hyde’s colours and it will all tie in with the leather. Of course these suggestions depend on personal preference but there are lots of ideas on houzz and pictures that can help with inspiration...hope my suggestions are of use!!

The STRING system is nice but unfortunately the widest module is 80cm, it will definitely not work with a TV. The main thing to keep in mind is that in your case the system should not be chosen in the color of natural wood. Black or white.
