Bedroom help please!

last year

This is our master bedroom which has been the same since we finished renovating our house 7 years ago 😹
But as we got married recently I decided that we should finish it off with some wall art to make it more finished and inviting looking.
All suggestions would be very welcome and we are also changing the carpet to a laminate for cleanliness so flooring suggestions would also be very welcome.

Lovely room. So you are just looking for art suggestions? I’ve bought good quality prints from King & McGaw. Prices start at around £100 for a good size print. They do all genres from classical to pop art and they are beautifully framed. If that’s above your budget, Etsy are very good too. Looking at the style of your room, something classical or botanical would look amazing. Here’s a couple of ideas, but there are thousands to choose from!

Thank you Sonia - I'll check those out! I'm looking for any type of suggestion that will make our bedroom feel more lovely. We love our garden & working in it so you're suggestion of botanical sounds A1 !

Hi Claire, Do the doors actually open inwards into the room? How about considering place the bed in the center of the room facing the doors? You would disguise the back of the bed with a thin console table which have some dressing style storage (jewelry etc) and can hold some tall flowers and candles to set the mood on entering. There's lots of ways you can add the luxury feel you are looking but this would create real impact and make the bed the real feature of the space. If budget allows I would hang lights from the ceiling ad beside lights and layer up on dressing for an even more luxurious feel. I have attached one of my clients bedroom design (single room re-design package) to show you the hanging lighting idea - if this isn't possible then a well placed small chandelier style light would have a great effect on the space. It is cheaper to keep the shower room in the same place. But personally I would save money on vaulted ceilings and Velux windows as I think the right layout will give the biggest bang for your buck.

Hi Katie - it sounds gorgeous! However - as mum of a teenage daughter, she convinced me a couple of years ago to decorate her room including a wall of very expensive wallpaper. It looked amazing! But just like most teenagers, her taste changed quickly and within 18 months (tops!) the wallpaper was off. She now has painted walls again and much prefers it because she can change the look very easily. I don’t want to put a dampener on your plans as they are lovely - but I would certainly be cautious!!!

Hello, I think you need more just a painting. the room doesn't have enough lighting. I can not see from the photograph if you have any table lamps in the nightstands. Also, I can see that in the nightstand there are a lot of things. see if you can buy a furniture that you can place them in. I can see that your bedroom furniture are of classic design. you can buy canva drawings of any style you like or you can buy more than one drawing and place them together. If you buy one painting I think it will look better if the width is similar with the beds width, Also, think what you will do with the side wall which is completely empty. In the side wall you can buy different size of posters in any colour frame that you like (gallery wall art ). Also add some shelves and small decoration items that will make your space looks beautiful. There are a lot of paintings with very bright colours, do your research for a few days and then decide what is the best option and how everything will blend together.

A little furniture rearrangement might help... i would suggest sliding your dresser more centrally on that wall, and moving the chair next to the window. Your room may feel more 'finished' with some bedside lamps and wall art - not too many pieces. As suggested - one of the width to your bed. You could vary the accent tones a little - with Sonia's picture suggestions, you could take further colors to bring into the room, ie a deeper purple, say in a bed cushion or a bed throw drawing , or a soft pastel blue. I would be wary of removing carpet, it would diminish the warmth of your room and diminish the cozy, comfort of a bedroom.
