Comments (12)It started out with an irregular small gray and cocoa stripe, not too different from its current look, then was covered in a beautiful but fragile yellow silk that didn't hold up well, followed by the attached photo from the 70s....See MoreTwo different shades of leather in the same room??
Comments (0)Hi, I have a small Victorian terrace house with the typical 22ft long, narrow living room. At one end I have a solid oak dining table with dark chocolate coloured chairs. At the other end will be the sofa which I haven't bought yet. I have chosen leather for it's durability and easy cleaning as I have a dog. I have picked a sofa based on looks, comfort, fillings etc. It comes in a choice of leathers. My question is, can I have two different shades of brown leather in the same room? I don't want them to match. The walls will probably be white and I plan on having a white or similarly neutral coloured fabric wing back chair by the sofa next to the fire which will kind of sit between the two items in question. I (think) I have posted a picture of the chairs and the two possible sofa swatches side by side. This is my first house, I 've never had to decorate before!? Thank you in advance : )...See MoreTwo differenct shades of brown leather in the same room?
Comments (3)Hi, thanks for replying. My question was specifically regarding the leathers shown in the picture. Do you think either of them 'go' / are contrast enough? I'm not looking for them to look similar, I agree that would look like I attempted to match and failed...See MoreWhat curtains go with green carpet?
Comments (11)Also depends on the sofa (and other seating) fabric she'll have. And I hope we are talking about floor to ceiling curtains? I've put in a more neutral chair and painted the walls a cream (but obv I don't know whether it resembles the cream walls of your friend's room) Here's a mock up with gold curtains https://www.curtains-2go.co.uk/curtains/23618/lucerna-gilt.htm I don't know this company, so don't know whether it's a nice fabric, but it's the one I used in the 'room'. (I personally wouldn't go for gold curtains though) Another idea could be a dusky pink. https://www.curtains-2go.co.uk/curtains/23327/fine-velvet-pale-rose.htm And I've also put in the neutral curtains I've used in the first mock up, just so you can see the effect of the different colours. But it all depends on the furniture too, not just on the carpet. Anyway, hope it helps....See More- 4 years ago
