Comments (10)Hi. I think a white/neutral with a pink undertone might work. You could look at farrow and ball slipper satin or dimity but I'd pick up a few colour charts and then get some testers. Dulux just walnut I think will also work but there won't be much contrast between units and walls...See MoreWren v Howdens and wood v mdf
Comments (47)If its a choice between Wren and any other kitchen provider in the universe go with the other! I had nothing but trouble dealing with Wren. They were much more expensive, expected me to organise the individual contractors (tiler, plumber), the quotes from their nominated contractors came in AFTER I had the work completed by a Howdens specialist and had to chase them for months to get my 'fully refundable' deposit back. The Howdens contractor did everything from the design (picking up major design flaw in the Wren design) to the aftercare. I got solid wood doors and solid wood bench tops for less than what Wren quoted for cheaper options. He even came back and did some extra decorating work to finish the job off nicely. Dealing with Wren was a total nightmare....See MoreHowdens vs Wren vs Magnet
Comments (33)I've just pulled the trigger on Howdens Allendale shaker style, 15 units in total, laminate worktop, 5 appliances (inc integrated washing machine and integrated fridge freezer), standard swan neck tap, composite 1.5 sink, door/drawer handles, upstand, undercabinet lighting.. delivered.. final price of £6150.. own tradesman fitting everything, inc electrics, his final bill is £1300.. so £7450 total. Like for like, SUPPLY ONLY (not install), Magnet's online price estimator returning +9k, no mention of sink/tap and unlikely to include upstand, lighting.. Like for like, SUPPLY ONLY, not including things like upstands, lighting, Wren was well over 8k.. So Howdens was significantly cheaper. I can't find any supplier with a price estimator who can get near Howdens price. To be fair, it was part of their Autumn sale, plus fitters discount....See MoreHelp with Howdens kitchens!
Comments (4)Howdens are really expensive, 8k for 13 cabinets, doors, trims, sink and tap seems a bit much, i'm currently working on a 17 unit kitchen with bespoke size units and doors, all the trims and pull outs coming in at 6k. I think you'd be better off looking for a local independant kitchen designer/supplier. You'd get a better quality cabinet, better quality doors, better ironmongery, better design and more choice. So i'd shop around, visit some local independant kitchen studios with the plan so they can do a like for like quote for you, then if you like their quote you can ask them to give you a better design or take their quote and use that to haggle with Howdens. For the fitting costs, this may go up if you don't get the kitchen from your fitter though, as Howdens may of given him 2 quotes, one for you and the one that he pays on his account....See More- 3 years ago
