If you do decide upon pink - the more greyed-out, knocked-back, toned down pinks feel less sugary and can be a little less wearing on the eye than more full on PINK! But, if you have a room which feels dim, you may find you can afford to use a slightly more colourful pink than you might think, in order to show-up through the gloom. From top to bottom here the pinks become increasingly more colourful. It is possible to find a suitable pink to use in most every room : the secret is partnering the right amount of colourfulness to work with your available light.

It depends on what else you have in the room, the sofa colours etc. It looks to be a really nice room with some lovely features. Personally, I wouldn't paint it all a blue or a dark colour as East facing rooms can be gloomy on an afternoon. Have a look on instagram, there is a total shift away from dark interiors towards more neutral warmer ones. Not that this matters, but perhaps a year of lockdown has made a difference to what people want to live with.

Thank you all for helping as we were very stuck. So it seems that the Marley Dark Brown (4th from the left on the 1st picture) will work. It looks grey but according to the builder it is called brown🤷🏾‍♀️. We had thought the red old english marley 3rd from the left. Should I then have the sliding doors at the back of the house in white too? What colour front door? The back of the house will be rendered as will half of the front (first floor)?
