Comments (8)Pebbledash is a design crime!!! I'd see how damaged the bricks are by doing a patch. You do need to be careful though with the planners. Comments (10)Hi Charlotte I understand where you are coming from about the brick detail around the windows and sills which are lovely but they are small designer details whereas the porch is a much bigger area of bricks and if it were my home I would certainly render it as the rest of the house.Also although the porch has always been like that, it looks like it has been added on later, I may be wrong and just been left with bricks exposed.You have also got the nice brick paving around the house. Why don't you just print the picture of the house out, put a tracing sheet of paper over it and just colour in the porch the same colour as the render and you will get a better idea of how it will look. Or maybe render the porch and just as you have the brick detail around the windows just do the same around the porch, this would look really good too. Comments (16)Thank you Colorhappy, I was secretly hoping you would comment as you clearly know all about colour, something I definitely struggle with a little. I think your suggestion of a stone colour for the render and a green blue for the doors would look lovely, and I love the idea of it relating to the greenery in the garden. Do you have any suggestions for a stone colour? I have looked at F&B for the green/blue, they have a paint actually named green/blue, but I am not sure if this is too much of a literal interpretation of your advice :-) I also like the oval room blue too, do you think this could work? I love Stiffkey blue, but not sure if this is too rich/deep a colour and would end up looking dark? The front of the house faces north but still gets lots of great light, the house is elevated somewhat so it is never in shadow if that makes any difference to our choice of colour?...See MoreRender or Brick Slips on Edwardian property?

Hello. Back again after some time. We have been concentrating on finishing the inside of the house which is pretty much done now.We have decided to skip the rendering of the pebbledashed area because it is so expensive for such a small area. We are therefore looking to paint this area instead. Do people think that would look silly? If not would off white work?
We will be the first people in the street to do this but we hate the pebbledash as it currently stands.
Most grateful for any advice offered. Thank you.

I am currently painting a previously rendered ( inside cellar ) wall with this product. I am using the textured version. I got a few testers. "Borrowdale Stone" could look lovely. It's has a very pale grey tone hardly noticeable outside but could match your front door and garage door very well. Bottom shade in the photo.
