Thanks, Jonathan. Your suggestion is excellent so thanks for taking the time to put that together. The walk-in wardrobe and en-suite would be luxurious, and it's great to have some hallway storage but we weren't that keen on such a small back bedroom (it could be a maximum of about c.3.4m x 2m, by my estimates, due to where the soil stack is, 30cm to the west of the current bathroom window). However, it got us thinking. A third toilet (particularly a WC) would be handy as both me and my wife work from home and would have, COVID allowing, clients visiting regularly. I came up with this spin-off from your design and wondered what you thought. What do you think of this? Is there another way to make the 2 other bedrooms double rooms?

Hi Laura, You want at least 700mm between the end of the bed and wardrobes, this allows you to walk freely through the space but 900mm is more ideal. I agree with Sonia though, keeping the bed against the chimney breast and having built in wardrobes on the opposite wall seems the most sensible option. Plus you can then make a real feature out of the alcoves. Maybe consider adding some dramatic lighting to the alcoves (floor lamps, pendant lighting or wall lights) or shelving works well too as you suggest.

After taking a look at the floorplan options you've attached, we think that option A works well with where the bed is positioned. We would recommend opting for large bedside tables as this will help create a balance with the bed being a super king. You may find that option B almost creates a corridor effect on the right hand side meaning you are loosing quite a large wall that may have been useful.
