I always look for inspirations in nature - you can never go wrong with that... think peacock feathers for example... or coliber bird... But if you wish to explore more technical side of colour matching, I'd suggest referring to the Colour Wheel. Do you mean wall colours? I personally don’t like mixing wall colours as it can be incredibly difficult to get them to sit well together, such as feature walls.
