need help with kitchen layout - kitchen units deeper than window edge
Comments (13)I think that you need to leave a wider gap, 30cm is not wide and I think it will look like what it is, ie stopping the units so they don't get in the way of the french doors. I would go with a 60-80cm gap and make a useful feature out of it with floor to ceiling shelving. I've found a picture showing some shelving stepped back from regular depth units, so you get an idea. Another option is to use a rounded base unit if you like them and maybe put a stool or plant in the gap....See MoreWhat colour to paint kitchen units?
Comments (22)I wouldn't make the base units any lighter than they are as they work tonally. I am possibly alone in thinking it actually looks balanced as it is, but if you are going to change it I would match the base units to the window colour. The pic shows a very similar palette to yours, but maybe replace the dark brown to a charcoal colour. White and pink is very feminine. It needs the slabs of dark to balance it....See MoreShould we put a dark blue kitchen unit in a low ceiling room?
Comments (5)Are you going for standard height worktops? If so, I think it will be fine as the units will be just over a 1/3 of the wall height (things on walls seem to work better when in 1/3s or 2/3rds rather than splitting a wall in half). I would either paint the walls and ceilings the same colour or just go a shade or 2 lighter on the ceiling than the walls so you're not creating contrast. I've found this kitchen which I'm guessing is a similar height https://www.houzz.co.uk/magazine/kitchen-tour-modern-rustic-style-in-a-country-cottage-kitchen-stsetivw-vs~87744878...See MoreDark paint, light units?
Comments (1)Hi ash_neville, You could search the library here on Houzz, hopefully something catches your eye. It would be to your advantage if you added few pictures of your kitchen too. Kind Regards, Paintforme...See More- 3 years ago
