Tv unit / Feature wall

Hi , could you help me with some ideas how you would a feature wall or tv unit etc... Im a bit stuck on ideas since the wall is slanted.

I read your post. If I guess it correctly, your ceiling is higher than normal around 3m, it should be some high rise apartment building, and you have balcony too. I quickly do a none-rendering basic 3D design, to show you how a Bespoke TV shelves will benefit your situation. So I therefore, I put some simple style and furnitures, to show you my Free advise at the moment. I do not put any wall features and much styling yet. I do not put it windows yet....it caused me time.

I had trade partner in workshop in Yorkshire & Leicestershire, to do all high quality cabinets for kitchen, stone such as marble, quartz, porcelain worktop and all build-in wardrobe. Which materials source from all over UK, and Europe. So not a problem to build you a bespoke cabinet. We can put led lighting into it. Put trending wooden trim on the wall etc.

And connections from suppliers for all kind of designers branded / trend / lookalike furniture, fixtures, furnishing services with discount.

Depends how high your ceiling is ? You can get 8'x4' pre finished sheets of various wood /wood effect - back in the '90's I did a similar thing out of MDF to hide a horrid old fireplace ! ( that was wallpapered after ) it was in a rental property - but offered relief from the eyesore and was removable when the lease ran out ! If you are in the south of UK there's a company called Lamco in Poole who do fab things made to measure - I'm sure they could make one - but I do know they are incredibly busy - so might take a while !! Long flooring planks might be easier as pre finished and 'settled'. Good luck with it !!!

I’ve seen tiles done in a wavy line as a splashback. Glass would probably be one of the best options but I’m not sure what the limit is on length all in one piece. Bushboard have just introduced their new splashback range called Vista. There are some stunning options on there. Google it. They are not wavy top edge though only straight but the choices are outstanding. They’re available in MDF finish and acrylic.

Hi Tony. I think having the tv at an angle and building the cupboard out a little is probably the best option if you didn’t want to downsize the tv. Regarding speakers, ceiling speakers are a good idea if you’re in the construction phase, they usually come in pairs (left and right) and four would be more than adequate for a large room. You would need the ceiling speaker hoods as well for fire and sound protection. Also the necessary wiring would need to be hidden and all speaker wires go to an AV receiver which then connects to tv ( I think...not really an expert on this). Have a look at Richer sounds website, they should have lots of info: https://www.richersounds.com/hi-fi/in-wall-ceiling-speakers.html @ Jonathan, I can feel my hubby’s horrified look if he heard you say that TVs alone have adequate speakers ;-) (he is a perfectionist when it comes to tech stuff mind). We prefer freestanding speakers so we can upgrade as and when. And finally is the fireplace already existing? If not (at the risk of offending other Houzzers:)) maybe consider tv set into chimney breast above a low ribbon style fire, perhaps bio ethanol fuel as these wouldn’t need a flue. Tv above fire is usually a big no no as the tv is too high up and would cause neck strain but the modern styles could work well. Some photos for inspiration (click to enlarge)

A tv unit is easiest but a wall mounted tv at the right level looks good too, saying that it has to have all the cables hidden to work well, I wall mounted mine and the livingroom, it is 5m across to the sofa opposite so the height is perfect! buried trunking etc but really like the finished look, we have a floating unit in the sunroom which a tv sits on and the cables come out of a cable hole right in the center and are hidden up the back of the tv!
