Tachch what's your opinion on the dining chairs I ordered. I'm not sure they complement the breakfast island stools? When I ordered these my thinking behind this was that I was going to have the dining table in the dining room.

These chairs don't really go well with your desk in the first place. The table is dark and massive, especially the base. I think you should look for something else (chairs). Although I would think about replacing the table too..

Take a closer photo of the dark table. Such an angle so that you can try on chairs.

The ones you showed fit the table, but don't really fit the overall geometry. Please note that straight lines prevail in all zones. There are very few roundnesses and they are not bad for visual softening, but I don’t think it’s worth increasing their number - it doesn’t fit into the overall concept. Your mirror is very dominant with its massive/weighty rectangular shape and sets the tone for everything else. I’ll be seriously busy for a few days, but I’ll be able to continue on the weekend.

Ok makes sense. My feeling now is that the chairs are too dark anyway for the kitchen area particularly being right next to the stools. I don't feel like they go.

FYI there's going to be a door separating the 2 areas - the kitchen extension and the room where the mirror is.

Can you tell me more about the door? Do you have a floor plan? Draw on it where the door will be, what size it will be and what kind of door it will be (it would be great if there was a full-width glass partition and a door).
And what are the chairs that are too dark? I specially selected very different chairs for you in collages, so that you know for sure that you don’t want to introduce any color, as well as something with too much character)) I think the option of a light back and seat + black legs is best suited. And simple in shape. It would be nice to set the table with something white, but not a regular tablecloth with drooping edges - just so that the top of the table is white. I'll try this idea on collages later..

You have very expressive stools in your kitchen. They greatly limit the choice of chairs and your dark table with them is not an ideal combination. Often you can “make friends” a lot, but this requires making some compromises..

The door is a bifold door which will be between the dining room and the new extension. It's a crittall style door. I might have floor plan.

Yes I know for sure I don't want colour or character and I agree a light chair with black legs is more suited.

This stool is certainly much better. Especially the shape. But I would recommend one color, without contrast. For example completely black. So that they merge with the bottom of the island. Then white and black chairs will look more advantageous and overall will be more stylish and cohesive. Avoid excessive contrast/fragmentation.

Regarding the door: did I understand correctly that the door will have arched glazing? Already selected a specific model? And you absolutely do not consider the option of glazing across the entire width?
